Random Precision is a part-time music and web project between a couple of mates who live in different states’ capital cities.

The site incorporates Neil Wallace Music (my part-time music teaching business.) Neil Wallace Music details & contact info can be found HERE

We love music, particularly Pink Floyd (although AJ is also fond of the Beatles and has far more taste and breadth than I do). Groups we like to cover include Floyd, Supertramp, Cold Chisel, Asia, the Bee Gees and Billy Joel. AJ is the guitar/vocal side of the equation and I am the keyboard side.

This is an avenue for us to share our work (mostly ideas, patches and videos relating to vintage gear and its emulations) with each other, and if we can make a dollar out of some patches, why not? I have had plenty of requests for my patches from YouTube viewers, including many from tribute bands and I always passed them on free of charge. (The site is not here as a revenue raiser though. That would just be a nice bonus here and there if it did happen. If cost is an issue for you get in touch and I’ll work something out for you with a coupon.) Some examples of available sounds are under the “Patches & Samples” menu above.

As an aside, at the moment I’m in love with Applied Acoustic Systems – Lounge Lizard 4 electric piano. The “Sheep” intro piano sound I’m working on is nearly spot-on. It’s a freebie in the Patches Area for anyone who has Lounge Lizard and wants to try it out. Please be sure to read the installation instructions for that one. It’s different!

This site is quite lacking in content at this stage, so some social media feeds from David Gilmour and Roger Waters have been included. As time allows, we’ll get more material published. Please let us know (through the Contact Link above) what things you are into and might like to see here on our site.

Lockdowns (we exceeded 200 days locked down in late August 2021) have also seen me get interested in the kitchen. I go sailing and eat as well as playing in the musical man cave.

Thank you!

I just want to say huge thank you to everyone who has spent a few dollars on some of the patches that are available on our website. In the coming weeks I am very keen to try creating some sounds from Supertramp, Asia, Led Zeppelin and possibly The Beatles using mostly Arturia instruments but perhaps …
